FUTSAL
A sport similar to football/soccer, but played on a hard, indoor court with teams of five players (including the goalkeeper). It uses a low-bounce ball. The game is fast-paced, technical, and requires great ball control and constant rotations. Playing time is 2 halves of 20 minutes of effective time (the clock stops at every break).
Field/Court Dimensions
Rectangular: 38x42 meters long x 20x25 meters wide (international).

Score more goals than the opposing team by putting a smaller, heavier ball into the opponent's goal.

Created in 1930 in Montevideo, Uruguay, by physical education professor Juan Carlos Ceriani at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA). He adapted rules from football, basketball, water polo, and handball to create a game that could be played indoors. It was originally called "Ftbol de Saln." FIFA took over the governance of the sport in the 1980s, leading to a duality of federations (FIFA and AMF).

Futsal is a discipline that emphasizes individual skill and quick decision-making due to the confined space. Key rules include the limitation of touches by the goalkeeper with their feet outside their area and the cumulative foul system: after the fifth team foul in a period, every subsequent foul results in a direct free kick from 10 meters without a wall. The low-bounce ball promotes ground play. Substitutions are unlimited and "flying" (no need to stop the game), which maintains a high and constant pace.
